Britney Spears is down in Central America -- with Mel Gibson, mind you -- horsing around the beaches of Costa Rica. Custody battles, foreign accents and 5150 holds must feel like a lifetime ago!

Altered Reality -- Big Stars vs. Nobodies

Somehow, D-listers have finagled their way onto more and more magazine covers -- as the people who are known for nothing are getting bigger than the people who are known for something. Prime example: "The Hills" girls on the cover of Rolling Stone this month. OMG, WTF?!

Suri Cruise: Double Fisting

Suri Cruise is all growd up. The 2-year-old has had a very public battle with breaking her grip from the bottle. Any addict knows you can't quit cold turkey so mama Kate is helping Suri wean herself off the bottle and graduate to the big girls "sippy cup" club.

According to Us, pediatricians say parents should replace the baby bottle with a sippy cup no later than 18 months. Suri Cruise is 2-years-old, but when TomKat are your parents, the "rules" don't apply.

Hef Wants to go Down...Download Next Playmate

The nudie mag is searching for their 55th Anniversary Playmate and is holding casting calls on youtube (via LA Times). For the first time, Playboy has gone high tech in their quest to find the latest girl next door who will bare all. In their uploaded video submission, each girl needs to show some skin and say why they should be chosen to grace the pages of Playboy.

Hef's main girl, Holly Madison, is screening video submissions to determine who will fly to L.A. for a photo test. In one of the non-nude (sorry) video submissions, a girl in a tiny red bikini said she would be the perfect pick because she loves getting naked. That's already obvious.

Simpson Ties Up Wentz

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz's wedding is said to be imminent. The tents are up and Pete went out on the town for one last night as a free man with his dad and future father-in-law.

Like her lip singing, Ashlee's wedding is the worst kept secret in Hollywood. Simpson and her rep refuse to confirm or deny the impending nuptials, but all signs point to a wedding celebration. Last night Jessica hosted a rehearsal dinner at her home and even flew in her "boyfriend", Tony Romo, to be her date at the big affair according to Us.

Party Favors: Grey's Doctor Starring as Mom ... Jason Giambi's has a Golden Giambi

Brooke Smith is trading in her scrubs for spit-up stained t-shirts after adopting a baby from Ethiopia. This is the second child for the "Grey's Anatomy" star who has been thinking about going "Angelina" and adopting a child for a while now (via People). The embattled Yankee, Jason Giambi, is in need of a boost. The slugger is fighting claims that he used steroids, but when he needs help smacking those balls, he dons a lucky golden thong according to the NY Daily News. The thong has a reputation of success and has even been worn by fellow teammates, Derek Jeter and Johnny Damon.

Bitter Noriega to Watch "Idol" Finale On His Couch

Danny Noriega is on a short list of people who won't be at next week's "A.I." finale. Also on that list, this guy.
Click to listen
According to a YouTube post (listen to our audio - the video is kinda wonky) put up by the pissy singer, not only was Danny not invited but he was told in an email that he could not attend because, "they were full!" Danny claims he had to call four different people before he was finally given the definitive kick to the curb.

FOX had no comment on the issue.

Also- check out Danny squawking at his mom at the end of the tape.

It Was a JOKE People!

Please do not run out and buy Ellen DeGeneres wedding gifts.

Yesterday, TMZ broke the story that Ellen had announced her impending nuptials to girlfriend Portia de Rossi. Right before, the talk show host issued a statement, lauding the court's decision to overturn California's ban on gay marriage, adding, "P.S. I'm registered at Crate & Barrel." Problem is, someone then thought it would be funny to actually register in the couple's name.

While Ellen and Portia are planning on tying the knot, they want to make sure that everyone knows that they are not registered -- anywhere.

We'd make a joke here, but we're afraid people will take it seriously.

Another Hollywood Baby Bump?!

Cheech MarinIs there another pregnant man?!

While out golfing in South Carolina on Thursday, Cheech Marin was snapped with his bulging belly.

While his reps won't comment on Cheech's personal life, it seems unlikely he could be preggers since ... he is 61-years-old.

Tell It To The Judge -- Dayne Popped for DUI

TMZ has learned '80s sensation Taylor Dayne was popped for DUI back on March 6. Poor thing even gets arrested in this town and no one notices.

Cops say the 46-year-old Dayne was arrested around 1:00 A.M. after she failed field sobriety tests.

The L.A. County D.A. has charged the singer with one count of misdemeanor DUI. Dayne's attorney, Scott Spindel, tells us she was originally stopped for speeding. He claims she blew below the legal limit -- .07 -- but is being charged for blowing above the legal limit. He says they "intend to vigorously fight this case."

She'll be back in court on June 2.

Lowe Lawyers Put the Law in Claws

The lawyers in the Rob Lowe nanny case are sharpening those legal knives -- and the fencing is pretty fierce.

Yesterday, TMZ told you first how Rob's lawyers filed a motion saying his nanny Jessica Gibson's complaint was full of bull. Well, Gloria Allred, Jessica's mega-lawyer, shot back, and we quote: "Rob Lowe's lawyers must not be aware of a U.S. Supreme Court case, Robinson versus Shell Oil, which held that former employees are protected from retaliation. They need to do their homework."

En garde! Lowe's own legal heavyweight, Larry Stein, had this to say, and again we quote: "I don't intend on arguing legal positions in the media, but rather in the courts where it should be done. But Gloria Allred is simply wrong on the law. I teach law at USC Law School. Whereas I teach law, she holds press conferences."

Gladiator Can't Drag Ex Into the Ring

Looks like that cage match between "American Gladiator" brutalizer Erin Toughill and her estranged husband just isn't gonna happen. Damn!
Erin Toughill: Click to watch
TMZ was in an O.C. court this morning when Toughill, or "Steel" as she's known on the show, faced off with Clark Bevans over a restraining order he filed against her. The couple agreed to stay away from each other -- as well as their respective training facilities. Erin told us outside of court she's glad "everything is resolved." That sound you heard was Bevans exhaling.

First sign of a problem marriage? Maybe when they allegedly tussled -- like pummeling each other tussling -- during their honeymoon, as TMZ told you first.

Frenchie to Shauna: Hit Me Baby One More Time!

Shauna Sand's estranged husband Romain Chavent didn't show for a court hearing this morning to discuss his bid for a temporary restraining order against the former Playmate. He should have, but because he didn't, his case was dismissed.
Shauna Sand and Romain Chavent
In the handwritten request for the TRO, Chavent says Shauna abused him on several occasions and told him she was going to "ruin [his] life." He also claims she "tried to take out my ring [sic] out of my finger" on one occasion, began to "shake me and grab my arm violently" in another confrontation and then "hit me" and "scratched my back," in another instance.

We're not sure why Chavent was MIA today. He filed for divorce from Shauna last month, citing irreconcilable differences. Or maybe he was pissed that her lucite heel collection had taken over his closet.

NBA Star's Dad Alleged Victim of Fraud

The father of Miami Heat forward Udonis Haslem is suing his lawyer, claiming he took the money Haslem won in a civil case and blew it all on himself.
Read the docs
According to court docs, Johnnie Haslem was involved in a car accident and his attorney, Patrick Dooley, won him a $100,000 settlement back in 2005. But instead of giving him the money, Haslem alleges Dooley offered to hold it in trust while he negotiated to pay down his hospital bills. But Haslem claims Dooley was really jetting off to Vegas and spending his money.
